Funeral Planning Rules And Regulations
INTRODUCTION: WE LOVE FUNERAL DIRECTORS
Nearly all of the funeral directors we are referred to are highly trained, experienced, and deeply caring professionals who obsess about their wellness of the clients. We love funeral directors, and we love our clients. However, like any industry, there are bad actors in the funeral business who unfortunately aim to profit off of families during an emotional time. At Titan Casket, our mission is to educate our clients on the state-by-state rules and regulations, their substantial consumer rights provider per US funeral law, fight for our clients if they are pressured or wronged, and root out misbehavior in the industry.
Below is a guide to your funeral rights and the law. If you feel your Funeral Director is breaking any of these rules, please let our legal team know: we will help you, and can also make complaints to Federal, State, and Local governing bodies on your behalf.

In Arizona Where Can We Store Or Scatter Ashes After Cremation

In Arizona, there are no state laws governing where you may keep or scatter ashes. The county medical examiner must approve of cremation, and an authorizing individual must sign a form authorizing cremation within 15 days of the death. Cremation renders ashes harmless, so there is no public health risk involved. Use common sense and refrain from scattering ashes in places where they would be obvious to others.
Scattering ashes on private land. You are allowed to scatter ashes on your own private property. If you want to scatter ashes on someone else’s private land, it’s wise to get permission from the landowner.
Scattering ashes on public land. You may wish to check both city and county regulations and zoning rules before scattering ashes on local public land, such as a city park. However, many people simply proceed as they wish, letting their best judgment be their guide.
Scattering ashes on federal land. Officially, you should request permission before scattering ashes on federal land. As with local or state land, however, you will probably encounter no resistance if you conduct the scattering ceremony quietly and keep the ashes well away from trails, roads, facilities, or waterways. You can find guidelines for scattering ashes on the websites for some national parks. For more information, begin your search at the website of the National Park Service.

Worry Less Enjoy Life Start Here
Sure, we can talk a lot about how weve served Funeral Home Buyers and Sellers since 1997 but its so much more than that. The NewBridge Groups advantage is about starting your new chapter of life, with less stress, more time, financial freedom, and the peace of mind knowing your family business is in great hands. Our tailored approach is designed to meet the needs of our sellers and buyers creating a win-win for everyone involved.
NewBridges business model is simply unique. It emphasizes the best fit factor as the primary driver in bringing a sale transaction to fruition. NewBridge Founder, Jeff Boutwell, came up with this idea when he realized that funeral service had distinct characteristics and should not be treated like a real estate transaction as many other consulting firms do. The nature of the death care industry is different given that most funeral homes are family-owned and operated with a great deal of care for the families in the communities they serve. They also often treat their staff like family. This is why making sure there is a great fit between seller and buyer is critical, in addition to the financial aspect of a transaction.
Its our belief that all parties need to be happy, not just during the sale, but even more importantly, post-sale, so that the business thrives and the legacy lives on for years to come. And of course, so you can start on your new beginning

Q: How Do I File A Complaint Against A Funeral Home Or Funeral Director
You can easily file a complaint directly to a state’s funeral board or agency , or ask Titan Casket to do so on your behalf.
All states, except Colorado and Hawaii, have a funeral board or agency that regulates funeral directors. About half the states have some sort of cemetery regulation. In general, complaints should be addressed to the regulatory board when there is one. In addition, if theres a possibility of criminal action, it would be a good idea to file a complaint with the states Attorney Generals and or Department of Consumer Affairs. These addresses can be found on the state governments web site or check this link to the National Association of Attorneys General.
Usually, a funeral board or the state has a number of options. It can order a refund or reduction in the funeral bill, it can impose a fine, it can order an apology, or require additional education. It might issue a warning, place the offender on probation, or it might even revoke a license.
Taking a funeral directors license is rarely done, however, and then only for the most outrageous misconduct, such as embezzling pre-need funeral money. Furthermore, once the complaint has been filed, you may never be informed of the outcome, as these hearings are generally held in closed meetings. That doesnt mean you still shouldnt file a complaint.
As well as ccing the FTC, make sure you send a copy of your complaint to the person or company youre complaining about.

Erik Hite Foundation Honors Fallen Public Servants
In 2008, Tucson police officer Erik Hite died from a gunshot wound sustained in the line of duty. The Erik Hite Foundation was established to provide a child care center and family outreach programs that offer safe and positive environments for those employed by law enforcement and emergency services and their families.
Erik is buried at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Each fall, we join the Erik Hite Foundation to remember and celebrate the lives of those who have been called into public service. This annual event hosts other community organizations, food vendors and a raffle.
Where Can Bodies Be Buried In Arizona

Most bodies are buried in established cemeteries, but there are no state laws in Arizona that prohibit burial on private property. Local governments may have rules governing burials, however. Before burying a body on private land or establishing a family cemetery, you should check county and city zoning rules.
In Arizona, before a body is buried, the location of the cemetery must be filed with the county recorder’s office. The local or state registrar is not supposed to issue a burial permit unless the cemetery is on file with the county recorder or located on federal or tribal land. .)

Housing Families With Habitat For Humanity Las Vegas
Every loved one deserves an exceptional farewell. Palm Mortuaries creates funerals and cremation memorials treasured by all who attend. We also support the communities where we live and work. Thats why were a proud sponsor of FOX5 Super Build 2021-22, helping to give a veteran family a brand-new home.
Since 1927, Palm Mortuaries has been a vital part of the Las Vegas community. Caring for families is the reason we go to work each day, and when we learned about the opportunity to join with FOX5 and Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas to give a veteran family a home, we knew we wanted to get involved.
Work has already begun on a home that will be move-in ready next year. In the months ahead, we’ll roll up our sleeves and put on our hard hats as the Super Build crew works toward completion in the spring of 2022. This house we’ll build will not only provide affordable living to this deserving family but also accommodate their sons special needs. Handing over the keys will truly be a life-changing gift.
It’s an honor to serve those who have served this country. We do so every year through the dignified military funerals and burials we providethis year we’re doing a little extra.
Annual Events For The Tucson Community
The team at East Lawn Palm Mortuary & Cemetery understands that serving the community doesnt end after a funeral or cemetery service. We host several events throughout the year.
Each May, East Lawn Palm Mortuary hosts a Memorial Day service dedicated to veterans and military families. Held in the Garden of Honor, the event remembers those who have given their lives in service to our country. Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Chapter 4903 help us host this popular event. American flags are placed throughout our cemetery on the graves of servicemen and servicewomen by local Boy Scouts troops. This creates a stirring backdrop to the days celebrations. Attendees are treated to a barbecue lunch.
In December, East Lawn Palm hosts a Night of Remembrance for families who have lost loved ones in the past year. All are invited to attend this moving event. Guests can hang ornaments with the names and photos of loved ones lost on a tree and light candles in their honor. Community leaders from many religious groups are present at this annual event.
