Homebuilder Eyeing Former Milford South Elementary Site
A homebuilder may buy the former Milford South Elementary School site on Garfield Avenue.
Hensley Homes has made an offer of just over $1 million for the property that the Milford Exempted Village School District owns and uses now for district administrative offices, said district communications consultant Meg Krsacok.
Krsacok said school officials will move the district offices this summer to the former site of the Milford-Miami Township Branch of the Clermont County Public Library at 1099 State Route 131 in Miami Township.
The contract has contingencies including zoning changes that the developer is seeking from the city of Milford, Krsacok said.
John Hensley of the Hensley Custom Building Group in Loveland confirmed the company is in talks with Milford Exempted Village School District officials but declined further comment until the company has time to thoroughly investigate the possible sale and iron out some issues.
The city of Milford has not received a proposed site plan or other paperwork from Hensley Homes for the 777 Garfield Ave. property, which is within the city limits.
But the Milford Planning Commission will on April 25 hold a public hearing on changing the propertys zoning from institutional to residential zoning for single-family homes.
The zoning would preclude apartments, which some residents at city council meetings have said they oppose.
They will be across the street from Milford High School.
May accept backup offers, the listing says.
