Most of Greater Katy, including the area where Seven Meadows now sits, used to be made up of farmland and cattle ranches.

The largely rural area transformed into todays suburban haven thanks to a number of developments, including growth within Houston and the city of Katy, the completion of Interstate 10, and the construction of Westpark Tollway.

As the demand for homes surged, developers started buying up land in the area and building residential communities. Cinco Ranch, Green Trails, and Kelliwood were among the ones built during the housing boom in the 1970s and 1980s.

Things slowed down during the 1990s, but picked up again during the 2000s.

Seven Meadows was developed during this period, breaking ground sometime during the early 2000s. Newland Communities spearheaded the development, and several notable homebuilders offered homes in the new master-planned community.

Today, Seven Meadows is still among the more popular communities in Greater Katy. Its great location, easy accessibility, and highly regarded schools still add to the neighborhoods overall appeal.
