Atlanta REALTORS® Association released its on residential housing statistics for 11 area counties in metropolitan Atlanta. The Atlanta Realtors Association report covers Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Fayette, Henry, and Paulding counties and is compiled by First Multiple Listing Service. Here are the key houisng statistics.

Housing Demand: In January 2022, the total residential sales were at 4,289, a decrease of -8.8% from the previous year and -34.2%% from December 2021. The median sales price in 2022 was $375,000, an increase of 23% from last January. The average sales price was $438,500, up 16.9% from the previous year. Among Atlantas largest counties, median sales prices ranged from $335,000 in DeKalb to $380,000 in Cobb. Metro Atlanta house prices continued to rise, but an increasing inventory may make it less of a seller’s market in the coming months.
